I looked out my window today and saw this odd bird on the wire behind my house!!
Does anyone know what this is?
There were two of them and I have never seen anything like it!!
It's neck is actually long, but tucked in.
sometimes it would stretch it's neck out but I couldn't get a picture of it.
I am so curious!!!!

I have no idea, but it looks like a kiwi...wait, are their birds called kiwi's?

It's a great photo but I'm not sure of what kind of bird it is.
We went through this a while back when a strange bird showed up in our garden. I finally tracked it down on Google!

It does look odd sitting there on that wire. LOL This is one time you can leave the lines up without even thinking of removing them first. :D
I don't have any idea. Perhaps he is traveling the migration pathway and the two of them got lost. Like the Baltimore Oriole that took umbrage over DH's truck mirrors. He tried to shoo him away many times, but every afternoon he was back.
Unfortunately for the bird, he wound up meeting on someone's vehicle grill on the roadway. DH saw black and orange feathers one day. He was the only bird in the area with those colors.
You have a great capture - neck stretched out or not.
